A 27 year old man has been arrested in Hulme as part of an investigation into organised criminal activity and the supply of drugs across Greater Manchester.

Police from GMP’s City of Manchester Operation Challenger and Xcalibre Task Force attended a property on Stretford Road, Hulme where the man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.

He currently remains in custody for questioning.

Extensive searches of the property saw the seizure of a significant quantity of suspected class A drugs – believed to be approximately 21kg.

A significant quantity of cash was also recovered from an additional property as part of the investigation.

Detective Inspector Ian McNabb of GMP’s City of Manchester division, said: “Yesterday’s excellent result was another great example of the fast paced team work conducted between our Op Challenger and Xcalibre Task Force colleagues who work tirelessly to identify, investigate and pursue organised criminality across Greater Manchester.

“We currently have one male in custody for questioning and our investigation into organised criminal behaviour will continue at pace, which I hope serves as a warning to all those who are involved or considering their involvement in such activity. This type of behaviour is not welcome within our community and I appeal to anyone who holds information that could assist our ongoing investigations to get in touch with police.
