A 21-year-old man has been killed in an horrific road smash in Rochdale in the early hours of this morning.
The accident happened around 1.30am on Manchester Road (A664) in Castleton, the dead man was in a blue BMW 1 Series which collided with a blue Volkswagen Polo.
A second occupant of the BMW, a 25-year-old man received minor injuries and is assisting Police with the investigation.
The driver of the Polo sustained minor injuries.
An investigation has now been launched into the collision.
Sergeant Lee Westhead from GMP’s serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “My thoughts are with the man’s loved ones at this sad time.
“We have launched an investigation into this collision and we are hoping that the public may be able to help us.
“We would like to hear from anyone who may have any dash-cam footage, or may have seen the collision.
“We are also keen to speak to anyone who saw a blue BMW 1 series in the area of the collision or in Rochdale town centre in the early hours of Sunday morning.”
