A sixteen year old has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody for further questioning following the death of a woman in Burnage yesterday
Police responded to an incident at an address on Ivyleas Road, the woman in her 60’s died at the scene
Detective Inspector Sean Mcfadden from the Manchester Criminal Investigation Department said: ” We understand this will have caused some local concern around the community, but I want to reassure you we believe this to be an isolated incident.
“We currently have a boy in custody and we ask people to not speculate as we continue our investigation to establish the full circumstances of this incident.
“My thoughts remain with the victim’s family and friends as they navigate through this tragic loss. They continue to be supported by our specialist officers.”
