53 year old Glynn Williams of no fixed abode has been sentenced to life in prison and will serve a minimum of 21 years in prison for the murder of 36-year-old Sian Roberts following a trial at Manchester Crown Court.

The body of 36-year-old Sian Roberts was found by police back in November 2015 after officers were called to an address on St Helier’s Drive in Salford.

A Home Office post mortem confirmed that Sian had died from stab wounds to the chest.
Bloody footprints belonging to Glynn Williams were found in Sian’s flat.

Superintendent Bob Tonge, Senior Investigating Officer said “First of all my thoughts are with Sian’s family. This was such a tragedy.

Glynn Williams tried everything to get out of admitting his crimes and his story changed more than once throughout our investigation.

He will now spend the next 21 years behind bars, I’m glad we’ve finally got Sian’s family the justice they deserve.

Sian’s daughter Shantay paid tribute to her mum: “As you’d say “God gives his hardest battles to his strongest soldiers. Here is my tribute to God’s strongest soldier.”

“Your life might have been short-lived but it was most definitely lived! I have never known a person to inspire and touch so many different lives in such a crazy and unorthodox way.

“You definitely left your mark on this world through all who knew you, and you will definitely live on in all of us.

“After 15 long months in limbo we’ve finally got justice. On your behalf, our family would like to thank every person from the GMP and the CPS that were even remotely involved in this case.

“If we all did our jobs as thoroughly and passionately as they do, the world would be a genuinely decent place.

“My mum, my bestest friend in the entire world. Finally at peace.”
