Police are investigating after a man thought to be in his 50’s was found dead in Collyhurst at a property on Hamerton Road.
A Home Office Post Mortem is due to take place later today.
A scene has been established around Hamerton Road while officers carry out their enquiries.
Detective Chief Inspector Colin Larkin of GMP’s Major Incident Team, said: “We are only a few hours into our investigation into this man’s death and our enquiries are very much ongoing.
“People in the area will see additional officers, some who are there doing extra patrols, while others visit houses and scour CCTV in the area, to establish how this man died.
“As this only happened a short time ago, it’s likely that someone who was around Hamerton Road or the surrounding area, may remember seeing something that stood out from the ordinary.
“If you have information that you think could help our investigation – please- do the right thing and contact police as soon as you can.
“While we cannot bring this man back, we can help give his family the answers they deserve at this devastating time.”
