FIT-out contractor Workspace Design & Build (D&B) has reached a record turnover of £12.2 million, a 27% increase on its previous year.

Directors at the Manchester-headquartered company said the growth was a direct result of a raft of new work for new a number of new clients and a steady stream of repeat business.

Recent ventures into the residential and industrial sectors, as well as sustaining its commercial sector projects, also contributed to the record breaking financial performance, seeing turnover almost double from £6.5m to £12.2m within the last two years.

To facilitate the significant expansion, the award-winning fit-out contractor has increased its staff count by 20% and will move to new premises in July, doubling its office floor space to 3,200 sq.ft.

They will move from the top floor of Bruntwood’s Manchester One to the 10th floor of York House, located on New York Street, Manchester, to support further planned growth and their recruitment plans.

Russell Davis, Managing Director at Workspace D&B, said: “We are really pleased with the past year and the level of growth we have achieved across the business. The next year is an important one for Workspace as we move to our new office space and push forward across different sectors.

“We will also be continuing our expansion across various sectors, particularly looking at opportunities across the residential sector as we start on-site with Etc Urban Developments at their 20,000 sq. ft site in Preston, comprising 17 executive apartments. We are on track to turnover £16m next year and believe the office move will not only support our growth but will demonstrate our commitment to becoming the go-to fit-out contractor in Manchester.”

Workspace has recently completed a fit-out for Push Doctor, the UK’s largest digital health provider, alongside the Project Management Team at CBRE and Design Team at TP Bennett.

Push Doctor is launching its new Digital Health Campus which will act as a focal point for the development of digital health in the UK.

The space is designed to bring together stakeholders across the Health and Tech ecosystem and will be used by organisations, businesses and start-ups from across the country in a bid to answer some of the most pressing questions facing healthcare in this and the next century.

An office launch party will be held in September to celebrate the move and as a thank you to staff, clients and key stakeholders in the city.

Andrew Cowell from OBI Property acted for Workspace Design and Build in the transaction and the Sheila Bird Group have been appointed to create the designs for the new space.
