It is a year today that the Government then led by Boris Johnson revealed its levelling up paper.
It promised an annual report on the government’s progress, but no report has been forthcoming.
Now the Shadow Levelling up Secretary and Wigan MP Lisa Nandy written to Michael Gove asking where it is.
In the letter Nandy writes that the last 12 months regional inequality has risen and the levelling up fund has been beset by delays and wasted funding bids
She points out that one in ten bus routes have been asked,train cancellations are at record highs and there have been no appointments of the much touted regional levelling up directors
