Bolton boss Steven Schumacher welcomed a ‘brilliant’ three points as Wanderers toppled League One leaders Cardiff City to make it back-to-back wins for the first time this season.

The Whites’ push towards the top six gathered further momentum as Amario Cozier-Duberry’s second injury-time winner in a row extended Wanderers’ unbeaten home record.

In League Two Karl Robinson was pleased with the way Salford City earned a ‘fantastic’ 2-1 win at Priestfield, to leapfrog Gillingham and move up into third ahead of the break for the FA Cup first round.

Dan Udoh put the Ammies ahead early in the first half before Matty Young saved a Bradley Dack penalty. Kallum Cesay’s second league goal then doubled the lead, although Josh Andrews pulled one back for the hosts before half time.

However a determined second half performance kept Gillingham largely at arm’s length as Salford saw the game out to earn a first win against the Kent side since December 2022.

Late action at Boundary Park saw Latics being forced to share points with Shrewsbury in Saturday’s afternoon fixture.

The opener came within the first minute of the second half when Anthony Scully’s effort from outside of the box bounced in the net off the crossbar.

Latics equalised swiftly through the captain Tom Pett, as his first-time effort flew past Will Brook in the Shrewsbury net.

The visitors thought they had the final blow in the 91st minute when Tommy McDermott came out on top in a scramble and fired the ball into the back of the net.

However, with just over a minute left to play in additional time, Joe Garner headed the ball past Brook to salvage a point at Boundary Park. 

In the Conference Rochdale were held to a 0-0 draw at Woking on Saturday afternoon.

Jimmy McNulty’s men dominated the game and were kept out by a combination of woodwork and some superb goalkeeping, as Woking became the first team to stop Dale from scoring this season.

Neil Gibson’s first game in charge of Altrincham  ended with a point on the road at Braintree Town.
