An independent film which has enjoyed sell-out screenings at film festivals across the globe, including the British Film Institute: Flare Festival, is set to be screened at Vue Manchester Printworks and Vue Manchester Quayside ahead of its official UK release.

In From The Side, starring Alexander King and Alexander Lincoln, follows the story of two players from a cash-strapped and divided gay rugby club. The pair sleepwalk into an adulterous affair but must conceal their growing feelings or risk destroying the club they love.

The exclusive screenings are part of Vue’s BFI presents programme. The two lead actors and director, Matt Carter, will deliver a live Q&A session at Vue, Leicester Square following a screening on 6th September.

The film will then be screened at Vue Manchester Printworks and Vue Manchester Quayside across the UK including a recording of the Q&A session, on 14th September, ahead of the film’s UK-wide release on 16th September.

Robert Lea, Head of Screen Content at Vue Entertainment, said: “We are very excited to have the opportunity to screen a preview of this hotly anticipated, independent film as part of our BFI Presents programme.

“We have carefully curated films which give people from a diverse range of backgrounds a platform to bring their stories to a wider audience.”
