The latest figures from the Department of Health say that a total of 2,921 patients have died in hospital after testing positive for coronavirus in the UK as of 5pm on Wednesday.

The figure is up by 569 from 2,352 the day before.

There have been nineteen more deaths across Greater Manchester taking the total in the region to 142 since the outbreak began.

Leading the Government’s Daily press conference, the Health Secretary Matt Hancock revealed that 163,194 people have now been tested. 33,718 of those have tested positive and rate of infection has been doubling every 3-4 days.
