Two more arrests have been made in relation to a stabbing in Cheetham Hill

3 men, aged 18-22, are now currently in custody for questioning after a 26 year old died in hospital after being stabbed Cardinal Street on Thursday evening

A 19-year-old man was arrested shortly after the attack and two further arrests have now been secured for suspicion of murder. An 18-year-old man and 22-year-old man currently remain in custody for questioning.

Detective Chief Inspector Andy Naismith, from GMP’s Major Incident Team, said: “The arrests made as part of our ongoing investigation represent significant progress in our efforts to identify those involved, and our investigation will continue to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.

“I want to thank the local residents for their cooperation and support whilst officers carry out their work. As our enquiries continue, you may still see an increased police presence at the scene to reassure our communities, and I urge anyone with concerns or questions to speak with our officers.”
