A former Radcliffe soldier who exposed bullies in the Royal Fusiliers has been found dead at the foot of the White Cliffs of Dover.

Forty five year old Scott Enion, who served in the Gulf war had requested £100,000 compensation for bullying that ‘drove him to brink of suicide’ was one of three people found on New Year’s Day in an apparent suicide.

It is believed that he drove from Radcliffe on the day of his death.

The tragic event unfolded when a man was seen on the cliff edge on to Langdon Cliffs on Sunday afternoon.

The Dover lifeboat arrived at the scene, where the crew discovered Mr Enion’s body.

At the same time, they also found the bodies of a second man and a woman in their 60s, believed to be a brother and sister from Cheshire, though police are satisfied that the deaths are not linked.

According to ITV Granada News, his family said he was a changed man after seeing some of his friends blown up in front of him and suffering racism in the army.

He won his case for racism but, added the report, “his family say his health never recovered, and are speaking out to call for more support for veterans suffering mental illness.”
