A weekend full of art, wellness, food, fashion, music, comedy and family fun has been planned to launch the ABC Buildings in Manchester, on Friday 17 – Sunday 19 June.

The action-packed three-day weekend of activities will kick-off from 11am on Friday 17 June with a guest speaker, DJ and food by Kong’s Meat and Three on the ABC Buildings Roofdeck, followed by a silent disco into the night in the spectacular glass dome.

Monique Carayol, Ex-NHS Board Executive Director and a coach for theMakings, has been invited as a guest speaker to discuss “Brave Leadership”. Her talk aims to inspire and encourage confidence so people can make it happen in their careers or leadership journey.

The ABC Buildings launch weekender will also coincide with the launch of 70 The Exhibition in ABC Gallery, a group show curated by Monica Colussi to celebrate HM Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee. The six week long exhibition will showcase a collection of 28 unique pieces, incorporating a range of mediums and a broad spectrum of artists, paying homage to the royal occasion.

The second day of events – Saturday 18 June – will start with a vintage flea market on the Roofdeck & Dome on Level 3 (10am – 6pm), and pop-up bars and food vendors serving delicious street food. The day will finish with a Northern Soul takeover at Side Street Studio (2pm – 10pm).

The final day of activities will begin with deeply relaxing morning Yogasoul on the ABC Roofdeck with Ada of Beatingfit (10am – 11am), followed by healthy juices and breakfast served in the rooftop glass dome (9am – 12pm). Families will then have the energetic opportunity to celebrate Father’s Day with a kids and parents rave and craft activity in the glass dome hosted by Big Fish Little Fish (1pm – 3pm).

Sunday evening will see an exclusive stand-up comedy show in Side Street Studio, taking place at 7pm – 10pm with free entry, and 60s classic football matches screened on the roof deck (1pm – 6pm).

ABC Buildings and the weekender are dog-friendly, so families are welcome to bring dogs along for the day.
