Police have arrested three males – a 19-year-old, a 17-year-old and a 16-year-old – all on suspicion of violent disorder in Gorton
The arrests came after reports of groups of males attacking others with machetes and knives in the Ryder Brow area on Friday night
They have been bailed pending further enquiries.
The 17-year-old who was arrested following an incident when another 17-year-old male with injuries consistent with a stabbing. still remains in police custody.
Detective Sergeant Macquiban from our south Manchester district said: “We take incidents of this nature extremely serious, and we have been working hard to get ascertain the full facts during our investigation.
“We reviewed numerous hours of CCTV footage prior to, during and after the incident took place to determine who was involved. Following that work, we identified and arrested three males in connection with this incident, and they remain in custody for questioning.
“The Section 60 that was in place has now come to an end, and I am pleased to report that there have been no further incidents since the one on Friday evening.”
