LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Manchester has unveiled life-size replica goalkeeper gloves made entirely out of LEGO ahead of the Women’s FA Cup Final this weekend.

The build, which took Master Model builder Jacob McPeake six hours to design and create, boasts an impressive 830 pieces, including 168 hinge pieces that allow the glove fingers to bend and flex just like the real deal.

The replica goalie gloves have received a clean sheet of approval from Safia Middleton-Patel, a Manchester United goalkeeper currently on loan to Watford. Aside from being a pro on the pitch, Safia is a LEGO superfan and uses building as a therapeutic pastime between training and matches.

In addition, they also revealed a miniature LEGO replica of the highly anticipated FA Cup Final match happening this Sunday.

The miniature football spectacle includes a recreation of the Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur teams, complete with eager fans overlooking the action.

Each miniature player has been designed to resemble the real life line-up, with mini LEGO built Mary Earps and Ella Toone among those on display, proudly sporting their name on the miniature jerseys.

Their  football frenzy is in support of the sold-out Women’s FA Cup Final on Sunday 12th May, where Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur’s women’s teams will play for the cup at Wembley Stadium.

This momentous event marks the tenth time that the Women’s FA Cup Final has been held at Wembley, yet both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur will be battling it out to be crowned FA Cup champions for the very first time in their history.

Jenn McDonough, General Manager at LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Manchester, said: “We’re all rooting for the Manchester United women’s team here at LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Manchester. We’re keeping our bricks crossed that they bring home the trophy!

“It was an absolute pleasure to welcome Safia into the attraction and hear about her passion for LEGO. With the therapeutic power of our builds, we’re confident that Manchester United has got what it takes to earn the victory and become champions.”
