Following a triumphant run of sold out shows in Manchester, London, New York and their hometown Galway, acclaimed live band The Saw Doctors have today confirmed their return to Manchester’s Castlefield Bowl on Saturday 6th July 2024.

Discovered by Mike Scott of The Waterboys in the late 1980s, The Saw Doctors are powered by song writers Davy Carton and Leo Moran with a lineup including former Waterboy Anthony Thistlethwaite on saxophone, Rickie O’Neill, drums, Will Merrigan, bass and Kieran Duddy, keyboards.

“Born into a repressed, catholic, conservative, small-town, agrarian and showband infested society”, guitarist Leo Moran explains, “The Saw Doctors are trying to preserve the positive elements of our Irish background and marry them to the sounds which have culturally invaded our milieu through TV, radio, social media, 45’s, fast food restaurants, 24-hour petrol stations and electric blankets.

The Saw Doctors second single, ‘I Useta Lover’ was a surprise Number One hit in Ireland, remaining top of the charts for nine weeks, going on to become the biggest selling Irish single ever.

The Saw Doctors built on this momentum, racking up well-received appearances at numerous prestigious festivals and earning a reputation for being a powerful and exciting live band.

This summer The Saw Doctors have travelled to the US for sold out gigs at Boston’s MGM Music Hall and New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom, appeared at festivals across the UK and Ireland including headlining the Acoustic Stage at Glastonbury. They will tour the UK for a series of live dates in November and December including a sold-out show at London’s Eventim Apollo and two sold out nights at Glasgow Barrowland Ballroom.

Loved and revered by their loyal fans over the past thirty years, The Saw Doctors look forward to playing a major outdoor show in Manchester at Castlefield Bowl next summer.

Tickets go on sale at 9.30am on Friday 27th October available from www.gigsandtours.com and www.ticketmaster.co.uk. Very special guests will be announced soon.
