Spinningfields bar The Oast House is set to host a one-off creative event to champion Manchester’s independent artists

Spinningfields bar The Oast House is set to host a one-off creative event to champion Manchester’s independent artists, businesses and creatives, including a fashion show and art market, on Wednesday 17th August, with all proceeds going to mental health charity, Mind.

Organisers of Manchester;inMind promise a full evening of entertainment, with the event kicking off at 5:30pm with an independent art market held on The Oast House’s huge outdoor terrace, and live music provided by local talent.

Artists including florist May & Mimosa, artist Zandrarai and jewellery and homeware designer Ebony Nostalgia will exhibit their work with opportunities for customers to buy unique items.

Hosted by Manchester drag performer, Poppy Lah, a fashion show will take place at 7pm, which will see up-and-coming Manchester-based designers and fashion graduates showcasing an exclusive first look at their latest designs on the runway.

Celebrating the distinctive trends seen in some of Manchester’s most stylish districts, the fashion show will be split into three themes – Spinningfields, Northern Quarter and Canal Street – with the designers showcasing creative looks well suited to each area.

Following the runway show, live music will continue into the evening on The Oast House terrace.

Manchester;inMind is produced by YourCity;inMind, an organisation set up by friends Phoebe Williams and Eliot Riley. The pair wanted to generate awareness of mental health issues amongst the younger generation whilst raising money for mental health charity, Mind, in a celebratory way. The event is also being organised by Mark Harrison, Head of Runway, and Jj Garcia-Whippey, Head of Branding. Providing a platform for new and independent talents, all models, DJs, photographers and volunteers involved in the event are Manchester-based creatives.

First release tickets are now available to buy online here and cost £10, which gives access to the full event including the art market, live music performances, a seat at the fashion show and a free Punchy drink upon arrival.

VIP tickets are priced at £25 and offer an exclusive front-row seat at the event as well as a goody bag of treats from local businesses, including beauty essentials from Beauty Bay, health and wellbeing products and more.

YourCity;inMind’s previous events, held in Leeds and Sheffield in 2018, were an immediate sell-out – so we advise getting tickets early.

Local independent traders still have chance to get involved in the event and should contact Phoebe Williams at phoebehwill@gmail.com for further details.

The charitable event is sponsored by Blacka and Punchy drinks. Manchester;inMind takes place at The Oast House on Wednesday 17th August from 5:30pm. For updates follow @yourcityinmind @theoasthousemcr
