In order to get into the league clubs and their players need to prove themselves to be amongst the very best, and clubs and their owners spend a lot of money on making their promotion dreams a reality. Simply getting promoted into the league is cause for celebration. At the other end of the table there are the ‘top four’ finishing places that offer a much converted spot in Europe’s premier competition – The Champions’ League. The Premier League is the home of many, but few have won the title. Here we take a look at the most successful clubs in England and their experience of winning the most prestigious league in world football.

Manchester United

With 13 Premier League trophies in the cabinet, Man. Utd. are, without doubt, the most successful club in England. They last won the title in 2012-13 with Fergie at the helm. It’s been a while since their last win, and they have had to sit back and watch their city rivals, Man City, rise to the top whilst they have struggled to find their footing following the retirement of one of football’s most successful managers. However, their current struggles don’t erase their winning past. Not only have they won the title the most number of times, they have also held on to it for three consecutive seasons, twice!

Liverpool

Although it may only be since the arrival of Klopp that Liverpool have really been mixing with the ‘big boys’ of the league, they have an excellent winning pedigree. As the current holders they are the team to beat this season. They are starting to look like the team that their fans have always believed them to be now that they have invested in players and backroom staff that are world class. Only time will tell whether Liverpool have what it takes to stay at the top and remain one of the most successful clubs in England. Will they have the staying power to stay at the top of the league? Or are they simply one-shot-wonders?

Arsenal

It may seem to many that Arsenal are always the ‘almost’ team when it comes to winning the Premier League, but with three titles to their name, they have a winning legacy. They last won the title in the 2003/4 season under Wenger. They are looking a long way off their former glory-winning form these days, but they remain one of the most successful clubs in England.

Chelsea

Chelsea last won the league with Conte in the 2016/17 season. They have five titles to their name and although they are currently struggling to find form, it is clear they are still in the mix with the top clubs in the league as they try to win again.
