Families are being invited to discover The Magic of Christmas at Merseyway Shopping Centre in Stockport as the popular shopping destination hosts a variety of free, festive experiences until 23rd December 2022.

Merseyway will have all visitors believing in the magic of Christmas with a Giant Post Box, live performers, festive huts, and a weekly ‘nice list’ broadcast from the North Pole onto the centre’s giant screen.

Other event highlights include Merseyway’s Giant Post Box which is returning for a second year running. The Giant Post Box reaches 6m in height – that’s bigger than a double decker bus! Each child who posts their letter to Father Christmas will have a magical, interactive experience as they watch their letter be transported to the North Pole. They can then take a card and return to the centre on the dedicated day to check if they’ve made Father Christmas’s Nice List, which will be broadcast from the North Pole onto the giant screen every Saturday on the run-up to Christmas Day. The Giant Post Box will not only allow children to post their letters to Santa in time for Christmas, but it makes a great selfie spot too!

Providing a fun activity for families, visit Merseyway’s Post Office every day at the centre and write a letter to Father Christmas, ready to be posted in the Giant Post Box. Keep an eye out for mischievous visitors because Santa’s favourite elves will be making appearances each weekend.

Enjoy enchanting stories with Mrs. Claus at exclusive storytime sessions every weekend in December. Sharing her memories from Lapland and beyond, each story time session with Mrs. Claus will take place in the undercover mall from 11am – 3pm. Tickets are available to purchase online for £2 each via THIS LINK.

And as Christmas is a time for giving as well as receiving, here’s your chance to do something special this Christmas and give a gift at Merseyway’s annual Giving Tree.

Returning for another year, shoppers can select a bespoke tag from the Giving Tree and purchase a gift for a less fortunate child or person in Stockport. Each tag will share the age of the recipient along with an item they would like to receive for Christmas, meaning they will receive something they have asked for on their Christmas list.

This year’s Giving Tree will be hosted in collaboration with Age UK Stockport and Stockport schools and care homes and will be open from 14th November – 14th December 2022. All participants can drop their gift donations at the dedicated donation station or at the centre’s Management Suite.

From Friday 11th November 2022, visitors can find a fantastic range of festive gifts and treats at Merseyway’s Festive Huts. From Christmas decorations to delicious delights, there’s so much to enjoy at Merseyway this festive season.

Don’t forget to take advantage of late-night shopping hours, as Merseyway will be open until 7pm every Thursday in December and Friday 23rd December 2022.
