Storm Claudia, named by the Spanish weather service is set to affect the UK on Friday
Heavy rain and strong winds will bring disruption and possible flooding
Approaching from the South it will initially bring heavy rain to southern England and Wales
Rain will then arrive from the south during the morning & become heavy & persistent with winds increasing around lunchtime especially on the Western side of the hills
There are already travel warnings in place with Avanti West Coast having already cancelled some services from Manchester Piccadilly and Northern Rail’s advice to customers is “to travel only if it is essential on a number of routes,”
