A Stockport Conservative Councillor has been suspended by her party for tweeting anti immigration messages

Alanna Vine, councillor for Bramhall North, is being investigated by the party for allegedly sharing tweets claiming mosques were hiding “secret arsenals” and immigration was “cultural suicide”.

Vine has been a councillor for eleven years

Another tweet described an area of Manchester “now like being in Somalia”.

A Conservative Party spokesperson said:

“Alana Vine has been expelled from the party over social media posts which were deemed discriminatory towards those of the Islamic faith. Posting such content is in conflict with the values of the Conservative Party and will not be tolerated.”
