Keir Starmer has given the police evidence of Peter Mandelson allegedly leaking confidential Government information
The evidence includes unredacted emails containing sensitive economic information sent by Mandelson to Jeffrey Epstein
In what could become one of the biggest ever political scandals Lord Mandelson a cabinet minister, during a financial crisis, allegedly leaking highly-confidential and market-sensitive information to a mega-rich financier (and convicted paedophile) who had been personally bankrolling him, while also privately suggesting the CEO of a top investment bank ‘threaten’ his own chancellor in an effort to force a change of policy.
It is also alleged that Mandelson tipped off the financier over Gordon Brown’s resignation as Prime Minister in 2010 hours before it became public knowledge
Keir Starmer has asked for legislation to remove Peter Mandelson from the Lords to be drawn up “as soon as possible”
Kemi Badenoch has asked if Keir Starmer will investigate what David Lammy and Pat McFadden knew about the Mandelson scandal
Both men served as Junior Ministers in Mandelson’s department during the time of his emails to Epstein
Meanwhile it is being reported that Labour MPs are set to rebel and vote in favour of a Tory motion tomorrow mandating the disclosure of Government documents related to Peter Mandelson
