Stagecoach Manchester has unveiled 53 new double-decker buses to serve the Greater Manchester region, taking its spending figures on new buses, facilities and services to over £122 million over the last ten years.
The investments, which have helped to transform bus travel for passengers in Greater Manchester, include introducing over 100 new buses in the last three years, each with USB charging points, on board Wi-Fi and the latest Euro 6 emission standard engines to lessen the impact public transport has on the local environment.
As a result of this continued investment, 111 million passenger journeys were made with Stagecoach Manchester during the latest financial year.
Stagecoach Manchester has also invested in a live ticketing app, which provides customers with up to date journey details, allowing them to check the status of their bus before leaving the house through live tracking updates, while contactless cards will be accepted on all services from January 2017.
Representing an investment of over £9 million in modern and efficient vehicles, the latest additions add to the high quality, modern service provided by Stagecoach Manchester.

Our services offer a comfortable, clean and stress free form of transport for people across the region, while well over half of our buses are now fitted with complimentary Wi-Fi and many also offer USB charging points too so passengers can stay connected.
“We continue to lessen the impact public transport has on the environment both through noise pollution and our carbon footprint and the new vehicles represent our on-going commitment to making sure we are as environmentally friendly as possible, while remaining the most affordable mode of travel for both commuters and the wider public across Greater Manchester.”
