A Stagecoach director was put through his paces on the track, as he dropped in to Bury Athletics Club to see the positive impact of community funding.
Managing Director for Manchester, Rob Jones, visited the club’s Market Street facilities to see how funding from the Stagecoach Greater Manchester Fund has helped to develop volunteers and fund new equipment.
Run in partnership with charity Forever Manchester, the fund aims to encourage and support grassroots community organisations across the ten boroughs by inviting them to bid for up to £2,500 each.
Stagecoach Managing Director for Manchester, Rob Jones, said:
“It was an absolute pleasure to visit the club and see, first hand, just how much of a positive impact that their activities and training have on people’s mental and physical health.
“It’s great that, as an organisation, Stagecoach can support brilliant grassroots organisations such as this; going beyond mere service delivery and really making a positive impact in the communities that we serve.
“There was a real buzz around the club, and it was great to take part in some of the events, although I might need a bit more practice before I’m ready to compete with some of the members.”
