It’s been loved and enjoyed by millions of people for 82 years and now Soreen, the British Malt Loaf maker, are giving thanks to the NHS, key workers and supporting charities by providing thousands of deliciously squidgy Soreen snacks to those in need across the UK.
The Manchester-based company have teamed up with Checkout Smart to offer NHS staff and key workers at the front lines of the coronavirus thousands of free products from its snacking range.

Mark Simester, MD at Soreen said: “It’s been a challenging time for everyone, and at Soreen we want to ensure that we are doing what we can to support those who need us most. We’re working hard to get food on the shelves, and support the NHS, key workers, food banks and charities.
“Our gratitude goes out to doctors, nurses, police, fire services, teachers and delivery drivers – everyone who is risking their own health and wellbeing under unprecedented circumstances – cannot be understated. We all owe them our wholehearted thanks.

Other worthy charities that Soreen have and continue to support are; the NHS Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust and The Bread & Butter Thing. Soreen donated Lunchbox Loaves, a much-loved snack enjoyed by children and families in particular that come in malt, strawberry, banana and apple flavours, along with Soreen’s pre-buttered slices, to NHS staff at the Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust.
The Bread and Butter Thing (TBBT), a charity that makes life more affordable for people on a low income by offering deeply discounted food also received over 9,000 units of Soreen’s pre-buttered slices.
Soreen’s pre-buttered slices also fuelled thousands at the opening of the NHS Nightingale Hospital in London, as well as Salford Royal hospital last month.
In addition to this, Malt Loaf supplies were gratefully received by Hotel Football in Manchester, where Co-Owners, Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs, re-opened their facilities specially to provide free use of their rooms to health workers during the pandemic.
Soreen will continue to donate to local charities and hospitals across Greater Manchester including the NSPCC, ensuring that their supplies get to those who need them most at this difficult time.
