Skate Manchester is back this winter, giving skaters the chance to enjoy a festive atmosphere as well as Gold Standard health and safety measures to ensure a fabulous COVID-19 safe day out for all the family.
The popular event again takes place in a clear-roofed ice rink at Cathedral Gardens, so couples, families and friends can get together for a glide on the ice, whatever the weather.
There is plenty of room too, as this year’s rink will be the biggest-ever, but no increase in capacity means there will be even more space for skaters to enjoy themselves, as well as ensure greater social distancing.
Other safety measures include increased hygiene, robust sanitization systems and staggered start times so fewer people will be on the ice at any one time. All comply with the Gold Standard for COVID-secure temporary ice rink attractions, which has been created by a consortium of industry experts and incorporates measures that are in line with, or exceed, government guidelines.
With safety covered, visitors can relax and enjoy themselves right at the heart of Manchester’s Christmas celebrations, where there’ll also be traditional market stalls and an array of seasonal food and drink options, all set in the beautiful Cathedral Gardens, overlooked by the Cathedral itself.
Special events and offers will take place throughout the season, including a 15 per cent discount for students during November off-peak skating sessions.
