The City Centre Rrstaurant that got a mention in the Michelin Guide,a mere six months after opening has announced that it is closing its doors after the New Year

Habas on Brown Street,part of the group that also owns El Negro Goto on King Street and Canto in Ancoats posted on social media that they would hold one final hurrah on New Year’s Eve before closing and hinting that the restaurant might return but in a different guise

Posting on Instagram they said

As on January 2024, we have decided to close the doors of Habas Bar & Restaurant, however, we are thrilled to announce that our Brown Street venue has an exciting new concept on the way.
On New Year’s Eve, Habas will host an unforgettable celebration with 25% off food and drinks. We want to rejoice with all of our customers, with one final hurrah!

“We want to thank all of our guests and reassure Habas fans that this is not the end of Habas Bar & Restaurant forever, simply a farewell from Brown Street for now. We look forward to welcoming you to our new exciting concept in 2024…keep your eyes peeled.”

Habas opened in the late spring of 2021 and in November led by Head Chef, Craig Rutherford, and General Manager, Kelly Wimbleton, was one of 12 new restaurants added to the acclaimed guide

Located in the former wine cellar of the historic Manchester Club building, Habas opened its doors inspired by Chef Simon Shaw’s travels to the Middle East and wider reading, is Shaw’s modern interpretation of Middle Eastern dishes, influenced by the region’s rich and varied cultures.
