Taking place on Saturday 19th August from 10am at Box on the Docks, Seven Bro7hers and A Few Scoops are delighted to announce their sponsorship of Turn The Box Blue Festival.

The family-fun day will be jam-packed with music, entertainment and activities, fabulous food and drink, before ending with a spectacular DJ set from Mancunian legend, Mike Joyce (The Smiths).

Mentell provides circles for men aged 18+ to talk in a safe and confidential space, free from advice and judgement. This groundbreaking charity originated in Stockport with just seven participants in 2017 and has since helped over 3,500 men nationwide.

The festival aims to highlight the important work that Mentell does within our communities while providing a fun and relaxing day out with your friends and family.

The morning will see Story Time Corner invite children to listen to stories with a focus on mental health and wellbeing, as books such as The Worrysaurs and The Colour Monster are read aloud. Born To Be Wild Child will create a mural for children and adults to complete, and The Beaut Truck will provide face painting, glitter makeup and hair braiding in their mobile salon.

Meanwhile, Beavertown Brewery has pledged to give away alcohol-free beer all day, and other delicious food and drink vendors are set to include A Few Scoops, Seven Bro7hers, The Tasty Greek, You Melt! and Beigel.

Later, the music festival will take place throughout the afternoon, as a variety of incredible acts will head to the docks; including a headline DJ slot from Mike Joyce (The Smiths). Other much-loved and local music acts will include Twisted Tubes, Remake Remodel and DJ J’Adora with Amber Jordan.

The festival also invites guests to help raise money and take part in their exciting raffle, where a number of amazing prizes will be up for grabs.

Andy Walker, Interim CEO, Mentell said:“Having turned various bars, barbers and boroughs blue over the last six years, we’re delighted to head to Box at the Docks in MediaCity UK – and turn the Box blue! We wanted to create a fantastic, family-friendly event while spreading the word on Mentell, and we can’t thank Seven Bro7hers and A Few Scoops enough for organising everything.

Suicide is the biggest killer of men under the age of 50 in the UK, and over three-quarters of death by suicide each year is from men. With events like this, we hope to raise awareness of our services and let men and their families know that support is out there for them.”
