SALFORD students were offered an enriching tour of a live construction site, thanks to a collaboration between Lovell Partnerships and City Skills – part of the Salford City College Group.
The event provided electrical students with an up-close look at the construction processes and the opportunity to gain invaluable insights. Held at Lovell Partnerships’ Pendleton site, Spinners Quarter, students were given a unique hands-on experience helping to further enhance their understanding of real-world applications.
One of the primary objectives of the tour was to foster an environment where the students could engage with the onsite team and gain valuable knowledge. Lovell staff members were present throughout the tour, enthusiastically sharing their expertise and answering the students’ questions about the construction processes. This direct interaction created an exceptional learning environment, empowering the students with insights into the practical aspects of their chosen field.

The Spinners Quarter development – delivered by Lovell Together, a joint venture between Lovell Partnerships and Together Housing Group – is part of the Pendleton Project, one of Greater Manchester’s biggest regeneration schemes. Named in honour of the area’s rich textile milling heritage, the site revives an under-utilised area of Salford with a new community of 127 energy efficient and affordable homes.
