The death of a man following reports of a disturbance at a property on Seedley Road, Salford on Friday afternoon is no longer be treated as suspicious

The man who was found to have serious injuries, was taken to hospital for further treatment, but died shortly after.

Following a Home Office post-mortem examination which took place on Saturday 6 May, the death is no longer being treated as suspicious.

Police enquiries into the circumstances surrounding his death are continuing and a file will be prepared for the coroner in due course.

Detective Chief Inspector Liz Hopkinson from GMP Major Incident Team said: “Following extensive enquiries, we can now confirm that the man’s death is not being treated as suspicious and the 52-year-old man who was initially arrested has been released pending further enquiries.

“Our enquiries are ongoing as we continue to investigate the full circumstances of this incident.”
