Accrington Stanley host Lincoln City as they look to continue their good turn of recent form, with one loss in the last five games. Lincoln, currently in the League One play-off places, have suffered back to back defeats ahead of the game. Accrington have not lost at home to Lincoln since 2009, on paper, this is a win for John Coleman’s men.
Rochdale welcome Wimbledon to the Crown Oil Arena. Dale have not won in three games, with two draws and a loss for Brain Barry-Murphys men. However, they welcome a Wimbledon side with one win in four, albeit they have drawn the other three. The League One table is tight and a win could catapult Rochdale up the league. However, Dale have never beat Wimbledon at home, and you’d have to go back to 2014 for the last victory over the Dons.
Wigan Athletic face fellow strugglers Oxford United. With Latics rooted to the bottom of the table and managerless, the season is going pretty much as forecasted in pre-season. To avoid being cut further adrift from safety a win is a must, and however early it is in the season, this is a true six-pointer.
Into League Two, and Oldham Athletic will be looking to get three points on the board with a win over high-flying Exeter City. Exeter have only one defeat so far this season, and with Oldham’s indifferent form, who knows what type of result Latics fans can expect come 5:45pm on Saturday. Following defeat to bottom of the league Scunthorpe last weekend, Harry Kewell will be looking for a positive response out of his team.
Salford City welcome Bradford City to the Penisula Stadium and a first league home game for new man in charge Richie Wellens. Following defeat to Greater Manchester neighbours Bolton last weekend, three points is a must over the mid-table Bantams.
Salford’s conquerors Bolton Wanderers travel to Stevenage as they look to muster a run of victories together to start to settle their indifferent form in League Two. Stevenage, a side with one win, and winless in the last five games are, on paper, the perfect side to build back-to-back wins for Ian Evatt’s men.
Altrincham head to mid-table Boreham Wood in a bid to get some points on the board following a disappointing start to life in the National League. Altrincham have only one win in the past five matches. This is something manager Phil Parkinson needs to address sharpish if he wants to avoid a season-long relegation scrap.
In the National League North, Curzon Ashton host Leamington as the Nash hope to build on recent victories to keep within playoff reach. Leamington are currently 15th following their first win of the season mid-week, however, with the squad Curzon Ashton have at their disposal; A win for Steve Cunningham’s men should be on the cards.
