With Melons twisted and Love tearing us apart Manchester Cathedral was plunged into a Psychedelic light show courtesy of LUMINESCENCE
The opening night with live singers and a narrative voiced by Christopher Ecclestone saw the interior of the cathedral lit in an array of colours in a forty five minute light show
The show celebrated Manchester in all its finery with the backdrop of the building 805 years since its charter was first granted by Henry V

“Manchester calls light a siren to liberty” said Eccleston as he reeled off the names Pankhurst, Lowry, Cantona familiar to us all while an array of visual displays bounced off the walls in front of a packed audience
The live performance by the Manchester Collectives Gospel Choir added a powerful choral element, with orchestral reinterpretations of anthems by Oasis, The Verve and Elbow.
