The troubled Rugby League Club Salford Red Devils have been granted ta two-week adjournment by HMRC providing additional time in which to secure the necessary funds.
In a statement the club’s owners said
“We would like to reassure supporters that we are working tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure a positive resolution.”
The club allegedly owe over a million pounds
The club have endured a torrid season, with wages being failed to be paid,losing players
and finishing bottom-in Super League and losing their place in the top flight for next season after this year’s grading process promoted Bradford Bulls in their place.
The supporters pressure Group the 1873 are meanwhile urging fans to sign a petition urging both The RFL and Salford City Council to step in, protect Salford’s future and ensure responsible stewardship of the “great club.” adding that This adjournment has dragged the uncertainty on even longer.
