Questions are being asked about Manchester City Council’s approval of a lease for the exact Heron House suite now used as No.10 North on 10th June
It appears that the temporary headquarters for “No.10 North” being signed off eight days before Andy Burnham was even elected to Parliament
Reform UK’s candidate for Greater Manchester Mayor and Manchester Councillor Sian Astley has said in a post on social media that on 10 June, 8 days before the Makerfield by-election polling day, the Strategic Director for Growth & Development at Manchester City Council approved the Key Decision to a new lease to be entered into at Heron House
“There are no details on the Key Decision as to who this new lease is with, who the tenant is or any financial details.” she says
She asks the question then as to who was lining up new office space at Heron House, committing to hundreds of thousands of pounds in rent and was the office space leased with the intention of housing No 10 North before Andy Burnham was even voted in as an MP
How long had these Heron House leasehold discussions been ongoing and who was party to them she adds saying that her party will be asking those questions of MCC, and its Leader Bev Craig, today, in a formal request for more details.
