Flights out of Terminals One and Two are starting to resume after cancellations and severe delays after a power cut in the area.

The airport said that the terminals are resuming operations and expect flights to resume this afternoon and into the evening

The airport says that it is working with the airlines to reschedule flights over the coming days and is advising passengers from tomorrow to turn up as expected for flights tomorrow

66 departures from Manchester Airport have been cancelled today while 50 inbound flights have also been cancelled

Jet2 has said that due to the earlier power outage it “regrettably has no choice but to cancel all remaining flights departing from Manchester Airport today and Tui has issued a statement saying that it has taken the “difficult decision” to delay four flights for 24 hours due to the ongoing disruption, apologising to all those affected.

Airport Managing Director Chris Woodroofe has apologised for the disruption saying that the airport experienced a “big power spike in our electrical system”,

“That’s damaged some really key equipment for our departures security and our departures baggage systems,”

Passengers travelling from Terminal Three should come to the airport as normal unless advised by their airlines
