Police have released a CCTV image after a motorist failed to stop following a collision with a cyclist in West Didsbury.

Shortly before 8.15am on Monday 16 January 2017, a cyclist was at the junction of Palatine Road and Parkfield Road South when he was involved in a collision with a car.

The car, which police believe was a white Audi Q3, did not stop and drove along Parkfield Road South in the direction of Wilmslow Road.

The cyclist, a 22-year-old man, suffered three broken teeth and has undergone surgery for a fractured jaw.

Police Constable Mark Bateson, of GMP’s Road Policing Unit, said: “The cyclist was on his way to work but instead ended up in hospital where he underwent surgery to insert a plate in his jaw.

“I am urging anyone who recognises the vehicle or witnessed the collision to please get in touch.

“Equally, if the driver of the vehicle is reading this, it is vital that you come forward and speak with us as soon as possible.”
