Police raided properties and made an arrest as part of an investigation into modern slavery yesterday.
Officers conducted safeguarding visits at seven addresses in Manchester City Centre at around 1200 hours on Thursday 15 August 2019.
Seven aaddresses were raided on Great Bridgewater Street, Portland Street, Piccadilly Place, Bridgewater Street, Princess Street and Harter Street.
The operation was carried out by GMP’s Serious and Organised Crime Group and Modern Slavery Coordination Unit.It was supported by partners from the Home Office Immigration Service.
Police arrested a man aged 47 on suspicion of modern slavery offences. He remains in custody for questioning.
Three suspected victims of modern slavery were identified and were taken to a multi-agency reception centre where they are receiving specialist support.Officers also recovered £3,000 in cash.

“We will not stand for modern slavery in Greater Manchester and our officers are absolutely committed to making sure that people who subject others to this horrific treatment are brought to justice.
“While our investigation into modern slavery continues, I’d encourage the public to remain vigilant and report anything suspicious to police, as our operations rely on this intelligence.”
