Police have released CCTV images relating to four people they would like to speak to who may have witnessed crucial moments before the murder of 30-year-old Thomas Williamson in Tyldesley last month.

30-year-old Thomas Williamson was found with multiple stab wounds on Charles Street and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A full investigation was launched and detectives from GMP’s Major Incident Team are following extensive enquiries to establish the full circumstances that led to his death.

As part of the investigation, detectives would like the public’s help in locating the following people seen on CCTV in the area on 25 September:

1 – A male, dressed in a shirt and tie, outside The Lounge Bar at around 1:15am in Tyldsley Town Centre.

2 – A male in a high visibility jacket, which was captured on CCTV on Charles Street at the junction of Market Street at around 1:30am.

3 – A male on a pedal bike travelling along Charles Street and towards St James Street around 1:40am.

4 – In addition, officers would like to speak with the driver of a blue BMW 1 Series, which was seen on CCTV parked on Market Street. The vehicle turned onto Charles Street around 1:30am.

Chief Inspector Andrew Butterworth, of GMP’s Major Incident Team, said: “This is a complex investigation and we are doing all we can to find the person responsible for Thomas’ death.

“The people in these CCTV images are not suspects but may have witnessed crucial moments before or after the attack.

“If you know this person, or you are the individual pictured, please contact us on 0161 856 6777.

“Any information, no matter how small, could generate a new lead which may guide us to finding out what happened to Thomas.”
