Police are appealing for information about an assault on two men which took place near Ko-Ko Kobana Lounge in Rochdale at around 04:30 on Saturday 8th February.

Police were called to a report of a fight on Packer Street in the town centre and two men, in their 20s, were taken to hospital with head injuries, they are now both in a stable condition.

Officers attended and established that there had been two assaults in the same area at the time but they are not currently believed to be linked.

One offender is described as being a white man, in his 20s, with black hair. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black jacket and a white t-shirt.

A second offender is described as being an Asian man. He was wearing a black leather jacket and blue jeans at the time of the incident.

An investigation is underway.

“These were nasty assaults on two men which could easily have resulted in even more serious consequences.

Both assaults happened at the end of nights out so, even though it was the early hours of the morning, there may have been people in the area at the time who can assist us with our enquiries and I would like to encourage them to come forward.

Greater Manchester Police will not tolerate this kind of behaviour. Officers are committed to finding the people responsible for these brutal attacks and bringing them to justice.” (Detective Sergeant Andrew Dixon, of GMP’s Rochdale division)
