This summer, Electric Gamebox has joined forces with Rovio to bring The Angry Birds experience into a new, life-sized gaming format

This summer, Electric Gamebox has joined forces with Rovio to bring The Angry Birds experience into a new, life-sized gaming format to “take down the piggies”, in a partnership facilitated by IMG.

Launching 29th June, the hyper-immersive digital adventure will be the very first multiplayer Angry Birds slingshot game where teams can join main protagonist Red and the gang in the biggest Angry Birds battle yet.

Using the latest “Electric Pig Trapping technology”, The Pigs have been zapped into the dual slingshot battle arenas at Electric Gamebox where players, using the multiplayer slingshots at either side, work together to pop The Piggies that have stolen their hatchlings and eggs.

Will Dean, CEO and Co-Founder of Electric Gamebox commented, “We’re thrilled to be able to bring Angry Birds to the immersive gaming space. It’s such an iconic game and being able to bring it to life in a way that hasn’t been done before through our unique technology has been incredibly exciting for the team. We can’t wait to see fans playing Angry Birds in a brand-new format.”

In true Angry Birds style, the game will feature familiar characters, playful twists, turns and a whole heap of destruction and mischief alongside new features such as power upgrades and side-by-side slingshot gaming.

The game uses Electric Gamebox’s unique technology, projection mapping, motion tracking and surround sound to fully immerse players into the world of the Angry Birds allowing them to become part of the game.

“Angry Birds has been bringing joy to people’s phones since 2009,” said Katri Chacona, Director, Brand Licensing for Rovio Entertainment. “We are excited to be partnering with Electric Gamebox to turn Angry Birds into an immersive gaming experience and enable multiplayer slingshot gaming.”

Suitable for ages five and above, the Angry Birds experience at Electric Gamebox is ideal for children and adults alike offering a hint of nostalgia for those who played it the first time around, a brand-new immersive experience with new game play options and the chance to keep playing to beat that top score.

Angry Birds will be available to play across all Electric Gamebox’s UK locations (Southwark, Wandsworth, Essex and Manchester) from 29 June 2022 from £11 per person. Each Gamebox can hold up to six people.
