Two men have been jailed following an extensive investigation into the million-pound theft series of multiple Porsches across Greater Manchester.
Beginning in January this year (, Eidmantas Sadauskas aged 34 and Vytautas Ceponis aged 35 both of no fixed abode, committed the first in a series of car-theft offences, specifically in which Porsches were targeted.
On Friday 19 December, Ceponis was jailed for four years for conspiring to steal motor vehicles.
Sadauskas was jailed for four-and-a-half years for conspiring to steal motor vehicles.
The sophisticated work saw the pair use equipment and tools to disable the vehicle security alarms and gain access to them. They would then clone the vehicles, using different registration plates to allow them to slip under the radar.
In total, 25 Porsches were linked to the theft series and identified as having been taken by Sadauskas and Ceponis. They occurred between January and October 2025.
The collective value of the vehicles is estimated as being approximately £1m.
It is believed that the vehicles were being stolen to be sold on for illegal gain, including to locations and buyers abroad.
The thefts occurred across Greater Manchester, including in Salford, Bury, Trafford, Manchester, and Stockport, which is where the investigation into the series began.
The investigation led to police stopping a vehicle en-route to Cheshire at 1am on 16 October, after identifying the car as being involved in the thefts.
The occupants of the vehicle were Sadauskas and Ceponis.
A search of the car revealed a number of tools and devices, including a blank car key, screwdrivers, sockets, pliers, and various other items used to break into cars.
A comprehensive investigation by NCT officers based in Stockport found that Sadauskas and Ceponis were mapped out as being in the areas of the crimes as they occurred. The vehicles involved in the thefts were additionally identified as being linked to them.
The pair plead guilty to conspiring to steal motor vehicles at Minshull Street Crown Court on 24th November, before their sentencing at the same court on Friday (19 December).
Several of the Porsches have since been recovered and work remains ongoing to locate the outstanding vehicles and re-unite them with their owners.
