A Bird’s-eye View of Dunham Massey from the South-east by John Harris, has returned back from remedial conservation and has been reinstalled in the house by the collections team.
This evocative oil painting, dated 1750, is one of a remarkable set of four commissioned to commemorate the transformation of Dunham Massey’s house and park under Lord Warrington.
With this latest return, visitors can now view all four Harris paintings reunited in the Great Hall, offering a rare glimpse into one of the most detailed 18th-century visual records of a country estate.
