Oldham Athletic have confirmed that Francis Jeffers has left the club in order to take up a coaching role in Saudi Arabia.
The former Arsenal and Everton centre-forward joined Latics as part of David Unsworth’s coaching team in September 2022, fulfilling the roles of first-team coach and B Team manager.
Manager, David Unsworth, praised the 42-year-old for his contributions over the past 9 months.
“It’s a great opportunity for him as an individual to go and sample another culture and another league and I couldn’t stand in his way.
“Franny’s a good friend of mine. We’ve worked together a long time, he’s a fabulous coach, he wants to improve and I’m sure he wants to become a manager in his own right at some point.
“This new role is a great opportunity for him, and we wish him well.”
