King Princess has today announced details of a UK and European headline tour for this summer. Mikaela Straus’ first shows here since 2019, these hugely-anticipated dates Including a Manchester date at the O2 Ritz

King Princess has just wrapped touring with Florence + the Machine around Australia and New Zealand (the two surprised fans with a live duet of KP classic ‘Prophet’), with this newly-announced UK and European run falling around a run of stadium shows with Red Hot Chilli Peppers and a one-off date with Sigur Ros. King Princess’ summer festivals already confirmed include the likes of Rock Werchter, Lollapalooza Stockholm, Down The Rabbit Hole and Mad Cool.

Currently hard at work on new music, King Princess released critically-acclaimed second album, Hold On Baby, last summer. The project featured raucous highlight ‘Let Us Die’ – featuring the late Taylor Hawkins on drums – and anthemic singles like ‘Cursed’, ‘Change The Locks’, and ‘For My Friends’. King Princess produced Hold On Baby alongside Mark Ronson, Ethan Gruska, Aaron Dessner, Bryce Dessner, Dave Hamelin, Shawn Everett and Tobias Jesso Jr, with further contributions from Zach Fogarty and Amy Allen. A standalone track, ‘The Bends’, dropped last month, following an extensive US headline tour (King Princess was joined by Julian Casablancas for a version of The Strokes’ ‘You Only Live Once’ during her headline show at New York’s iconic Radio City Music Hall).

Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, King Princess is a vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter whose debut single, an ode to untold queer histories titled ‘1950’, became an overnight smash hit with over 560 million streams to date and eventually achieving Platinum status in the United States and Australia. Debut album Cheap Queen was released in 2019 via Mark Ronson’s Zelig Records/Columbia Records to widespread praise, with performances on Saturday Night Live and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. King Princess’ sold-out tours have taken Mikaela across the world with festival sets at Coachella, Glastonbury, Governors Ball, Bonnaroo and landed the cover of outlets like V Magazine, GQ, Highsnobiety and Rolling Stone.
