Police have launched a murder investigation after a man believed to be in his 50’s was found dead at a property in Rusholme in the early hours of this morning.

The man was found with head injuries collapsed on a sofa within the property on Carnforth Street, and was declared dead by.

No arrests have been made

Chief Inspector Andrew Butterworth of GMP’s Major Incidents Team said: “Our thoughts are with the man’s family as we work to determine how he has come to lose his life.

“Our investigations are at an early stage and people in the area will notice an increased police presence over the coming days.
