A 59-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody after a 55 year old man was found dead at an address in Royton
The 55 year old was found on Saturday night on Plumpton Close following a call regarding an altercation.
Detective Inspector Louise Kelly, from GMP’s Major Incident Team, said: “Any incident of this nature is naturally shocking and I fully appreciate that the community will be worried and shocked by this news.
“However, we are treating this as an isolated incident, with no threat to the wider public. We have one man in custody who was arrested at the scene and are working to establish the full circumstances of the man’s death.
“As we continue our work, I would urge anyone who has any information regarding the events of last night to please come forward. This includes anyone who saw or heard anything or has any footage from the area at the time.
“Any information you provide could be of great benefit as we work to get justice.”
