Located in the beating heart of Deansgate, Motley is housed in the soon-to-open eco-conscious Qbic Manchester and takes it’s relaxed, friendly vibe from the city it calls home.

The eccentrically designed social space, inspired by the saints and sinners of Manchester, will welcome hotel guests, locals and four-legged friends to eat, drink, play, work and hang out.

The much anticipated 70-seater outdoor terrace landscaped with lush foliage, will open on 1st May. Guests will be able to enjoy the sunshine, or if the weather turns, large awnings and heaters will keep everyone snug.

Motley will truly come alive on 17 May when the hotel opens to the public (earlier May opening date for key workers). By day, guests can pull up a comfy chair and connect digitally and socially, with delicious barista brews on hand to power through the to do list.

Visitors can take a look at the antipodean menu and try to resist the indulgent ‘Motley Market’ breakfast or tuck into the week’s tasty sandwiches. The all-day menu is sure to tantalize every taste bud.

By night, the space comes into its own. With fun, exciting cocktails, a mostly vegan contemporary wine list and a fuss-free menu that is ideal for groups, the overall vibe is lively and carefree.

Visitors can listen to some classic Manchester tunes that nod to the days of the Hacienda, Oasis and The Smiths and the party can carry on late into the night – especially in the private dining room and karaoke booth.

The space is a visual feast for the eyes; the stories of famous Mancunian sinners of their day who were actually saints, from Emmeline Pankhurst to Alan Turing, inspired the impactful interiors. The lives of these well-known figures are reflected in Motley’s abstract wall and fabrics by local designer BOBO 1325, bright neon lighting and standout interior features.

The menu created by Head Chef Nacho Llinares, previously with Iberica, is antipodean-style and filled to the brim with uncomplicated, kind to the environment and good for the soul dishes that are low-mileage, ingredient-led, homely, local and seasonal.

Motley offers something to satisfy every craving – vegan and meat burgers and open flat breads, Garden Spaghetti and sustainability sourced fish tacos are just some dishes that are designed for sociable sharing or for diners to keep to themselves.

Guests can try the fantastic selection of draft beers from local breweries that are on tap or have a member of the bar team craft an original cocktail. Dog (non-alcoholic of course) treats are available to ensure furry companions aren’t left out.
