Oldham Athletic captured their first win of the season after a late Doyle header earned them a valuable three points at Bristol Rovers.

Jack Byrne’s contender for Goal of the Season put Latics ahead early in the second half.

Craig Davies doubled Athletic’s advantage on 70 minutes before two quick goals from Rory Gaffney and an own goal drew Bristol Rovers level.Latics managed to regain their nerve, and regain the lead, minutes later as they picked up their first three points of the season.

Bury were on the wrong end of a similar score at Fleetwood after  a 93rd-minute penalty miss condemned the Shakers to a third straight defeat.

With the home side racing into a two-goal lead inside 30 minutes, goals from Beckford and loanee Josh Laurent pegged the Cod Army back before half time.  Ashley Hunter eventually won the game for Fleetwood before Beckford missed from the penalty spot with virtually the last kick of the game.

Meanwhile a stunning injury time comeback from Rochdale earned them all three points against Doncaster Rovers.Dale was staring defeat in the face after  John Marquis put the visitors ahead in the 74th minute but in added time, Mark Kitching produced a stunning volley to draw Dale level, before Davies stole in at the far post to score a dramatic winner in front of the Sandy Lane.

Wigan Athletic beat Charlton Athletic in Sky Bet League One that put the Latics up to 6th in table.Gavin Massey’s first goals for the club, one in each half, and a late strike from Samy Morsy, earned Latics a superb win at The Valley after a totally dominant display against the in-form Addicks.

It was another defeat though for Bolton which leaves them rooted to the bottom of the Championship table.Sheffield United taking the lead with their first real threat on Bolton’s goal, with debutant Cameron Carter-Vickers forcing the ball home via a deflection with 12 minutes of the first half for the only goal of the game
