The war in Iran is almost over, Trump has said in an interview with CBS

According to him, the U.S.–Israeli war with Iran is “significantly ahead of schedule.”

“I think the war is practically finished. They have no navy, no communications, no air force. Their missiles have been blown to pieces. Their drones are being destroyed everywhere, including the production of drones. If you look at it, they have nothing left. Militarily, nothing is left,” the U.S. president said.

Trump’s statement about the war ending soon sent oil prices down

After the price of US crude oil soared to as high as $119 per barrel on Monday, the highest in nearly four years, it fell to $88 a barrel as markets reacted

Trump and Putin held a phone conversation overnight in which according to the US President they discussed Ukraine and the situation in the Middle East.

“Putin was impressed by our operation in Iran. He told me he had never seen anything like it before,” Trump said.

Reuters reports that the United States may ease sanctions on Russian oil to curb rising prices. Trump may have discussed exactly this with Putin during their conversation.
