Michelle Mone has admitted in an TV interview that she stands to benefit from £60m profit made by supplying defective PPE during the COVID crisis

Appearing on the Laura Kuensberg programme along with her husband this morning she also admits that she lied Admits about her involvement with the PPE firm.

Both Mone and her businessman husband Doug Barrowman have been interviewed under caution by detectives investigating them over the so called Tory VIP lane £200m PPE deal.

Ahead of the interview Mone made a statement on X saying

“If I’m being honest, the public probably see me as a horrible person, a liar, or even a cheat. But I am none of those things. These last 2 years have taken a horrendous toll on me personally, and I want to clear my name”

The couple earlier released a documentary on You Tube in which they said they had been used as a scapegoat by the government for their own failings on PPE procurement.

Commenting on the interview also on X,the former public prosecutor for the North West said that it was unacceptable for the BBC to interview Michelle Mone/her husband about matters under police investigation

“There are 1000s of people also under investigation who would love the platform to share their “story’ but they don’t have money/power”
